t5 tail housing swap ???

I have looked for this info in search and found no answer....I hope someone can help.... I am installing a nwc t5 in my 52 f1 truck... the ****** I have has the reward shifter location .. I also have a later wc S10 tail housing with the shifter in the forward pos. will the late WC housing work on the NWC ******:confused:

Respectfully Walt, not true! Tailshaft housings are SAME length (only the shifter location ON the tailshaft housing is different) and will interchange. The BOX COVER original to the tailshaft housing used must be swapped along with the tailshaft housing to match the proper shifter rail length. DD
 
The speedometer may be a problem. Early S10 tail hsngs. used a cable drive speedometer while later models used speed a sensor. If your tail hsng. is other than Chev. the speedo holes probably won't line up.

IF the speedo-drive holes DO NOT line-up with the drive gear on the shaft, go to the link below for an easy solution. I've successfully used this method...IT WORKS! DD
