T-Bird Hard Top

I have a 55 T-Bird and would like to know how you would store the hard top? I have been told several ways,stand up,lay down or hang up. Would any of these hurt the top?

Regardless of which way you store these tops there will still be spreading (width ways) if left off the car for any real lenth of time (6 mo or more) but even tho you will need to push the top in on both side clamp areas, it will go back together and be as good as new in a short time.
I have a stand for mine that I bought from Hills t-birds and so it is stored standing up....John in CT
