T-Bird Club/Forum??

Hello Everyone,

You T-Bird guys....What is the best club/forum to join for these cars?

I joined a FB Group "Ford Thunderbird First Gen. 55-57" & it seems to be pretty active. I also paid the $35.00 to join the Thunderbird Forum.com, that was a mistake, not much traffic & it turns out the owner/mod is an arrogant idiot that is only interested in sucking money out of the guys who join, to the point that he deleted all the comments except for his when a member asked where to advertise their car for sale. Some mentioned BAT, I commented that I have had great experiences with FB Marketplace, well he was offended & deleted those comments wanting everybody to use HIS For Sale section ONLY! Can you say "Butt Hurt" LMAO.

So I am looking for the "good" club/forum that has high traffic & run well like The Barn. HAMB, Etc!

God Bless
Bill

Bill, I’ve had my bird since 99, and haven’t really ever seen a high volume site. Certainly nothing like the HAMB or here.

While the traffic is low on yblocksforever, the site knowledge is really deep. It goes beyond just the engines. Its got a lot of answers for just maintenance tips, and you don’t get flamed for what you ask.

I’m sure you’re aware of CTCI, another great body of knowledge.

If anyone has what you’re looking for, it will be alt63bird

If you're ok with FB groups here are a couple for '55/'57 T-Birds.
There are membership request questions to answer first so look for them.

Email Ted Eaton at https://www.eatonbalancing.com/. He acts as the spam filter, and he’ll get you set up. It’s how they stopped a long run of cyrillic alphabet and worse messages of getting into the site.

Thank You Both,

I joined both FB groups & will email Ted!

Bill, thank you for the info (post #1). I have a 57 Skyliner, so I often am interested in the same topics are the baby-bird owners. You never know I may end up with a baby-bird one day, now that the prices of them have moderated a lot.

BTW, I am guessing your wife will never turn loose of her 57. You sealed the deal with that car, she will love you forever. hahahaha

WOW,
Thank you, I will be careful with that one & do some research before I post on it!
...
What I've noticed occasionally in some FB groups (besides letting their friends post spam & scams) folks with a questionable off-shore background will create a FB group and use it to copy photos of cars & parts so their shady friends can create phony For Sale posts in other places to scam legitimate owners.

There are also scam profiles pretending to be a business selling parts, also using copied images of parts and sometimes even the name of, or images from, a legit business or salvage yard.

Thank You Gene,

Yes, I have a feeling we will have this car for quite some time!:D

You might like this long running thread over on the HAMB about Y-Blocks that I just found today.

I like this forum (below). Pretty active and seems to have a lot of people with experience. It is part of Vintage Thunderbird Club Int'l but you do not have to be a member of the club to join .

And I heartily agree re your comments about the Thunderbird Forum.

Thanks for the good word-of-mouth. FWIW I know a lot of CTCI members are also on the VTCI Forum as well as being VTCI members. BTW I am one of the the administrator for the VTCI Forum and try to monitor it on a daily basis.

I'll spare you the commercial on becoming a paying member-in-good standing to help keep it up and running, as it's subsidized by dues-paying members of the Club - you'll eventually see that at some point if you participate in the VTCI Forum. Several people have confused us with the aforementioned privately-held one and its subscription fees. People do get the VTCI Forum and others confused - trust me, I've had to deal with people asking me about 'Gold' memberships that the 'other' Forum offers for access to certain features.

Along the same lines, VTCI does also have a Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/533787048180972 that currently doesn't require paying membership in the organization, as does another competing group. I regard the VTCI's Facebook group as more of a social venue than a technical venue, as there's over 23 years' worth of topics that can be searched for in the VTCI Forum vs the free-for-all of Facebook and social media groups.

Hello Alan,

I did join your forum & like the tone & format of it. I will (in the near future) join the club/pay my dues. I always believe in supporting the forums that I either glean information from or advertise on!

Once I bring her car out in the spring, I will be more active on the forum as I am sure I will have some questions. This is my 1st "Baby Bird". I may do a new guy post soon.

God Bless
