Synthetic Grease

I have read several posting about synthetic motor oil vs conventional motor oil.
But what about synthetic grease?

My fellow club members whom I trust for all things A, informed me about the general purpose grease that I intended to use on my U-joint would leak.
"After they switched to synthethic grease, this was no longer a problem".

I will be applying the syntectic but just wanted to hear from the barners, their thoughts.

I have tried Mobil 1 synthetic grease in several applications on the Model A and find it less than ideal. The problem I experienced, whether the grease was in use or in the tube, was that the oil tended to separate from the grease in a very short time. The thickening "fiber" or "filler" in any grease is supposed to hold the oil for gradual release (the oil is what lubricates any metal to metal joint). This left a dry wad of filler where applied and a bunch of oil on the floor. Other brands with different names may in fact be engineered correctly and not just trying to piggy back on the reputation of a different product (i.e., their oil).

I use Mystik JT-6 High Temp for anything where grease is called for. I packed my U-joint full, and I'd bet if I never greased it again it would still outlive me.:D
