I assure you that there are plenty of corrupt and dishonest Americans. No need to claim that this guy is "likely foreign". Very offensive.
 
I just got taken by him, too. He says his name is Joshua Hanawalt and that he lives in Mesa, AZ. He even sent me a photo of his drivers license with address and all. Probably not valid. I did find the same guy on facebook, though. Said he had a decklid for a 1946 Ford Coupe. He is a scammer for sure.

Let me clarify…three incidents i know of for sure all Eastern Europe. It seems the myriad of reports are Russian, Nigerian and Eastern Europe.
Ok, clarify again…none German! If you’re offended, that’s the way it goes. If it’s my “need” I’ll post it and if Ryan thinks it unworthy, he can take it down!! Don’t need your direction! I don’t think your 40 posts qualifies you as editor !!
Correct MANY dishonest Americans. But maybe I’m offended that you defame Americans, eh?

I know people on here are saying that we are calling everyone scammers now well we ARE NOT doing that we are just making a point to let everyone know that ONE person on the barn is a scammer THAT'S it, As there might be more scammers on the barn but as of right now this Joshua Hanawalt that lives in Masa, AZ is the only one that I know of because he tried to scam me is the only reason why I know about him that's it and I'm the one that put it out on the barn to let everyone know of this guy and to stay away for him and don't answer any of his texts or anything that he may send you on the barn or anywhere else for that matter, as far as I know he is using the same name on all of the sites that he is on not to smart for a scammer and he sends you his Drivers License that's not smart either unless you want to be caught witch I hope he does get caught soon and gets a big fine maybe that will teach him a lesson but I doubt it.

John Dillinger was a huge Ford fan. Especially of the '34 Ford V-8 he used on Bank jobs. If he were alive today, I am sure he would be a strong FordBarn member. But I suspect that he would NOT be scamming 'Barners'; while at the same time he WOULD be robbing banks !
He followed the old adage: "Don't Piss in your own yard".

Oh, and bye the way - while there may have been a bit of "Kraut" in his name, he was a most thoroughly American 'Capitalist Entrepreneur'.
 
I am going to take a contrary attitude to banning... let him play, but also let people be aware (do a search of his name and this thread should pop up). Ban him and he will be back with a new name. Similar issue with the police who do make an arrest and the suspect is out before the paperwork is finished.

You hit the nail right on the head on that one as if we get him kicked off the barn he would be back with a new name in no time at all, so it would be better just to leave him a lone as everything is out there that this guy is a swindler now if anyone else gets swindled by him it's there own fault on that one.

But I think that Ryan should put something on the barn stating about the swindlers that are on here and maybe give out there names on here but then again if the swindlers see that they will just use a different name then that one but there has to be a way to do it.

Arizona has a thriving industry supplying illegal (oops, "undocumented") aliens with fake ID's so don't trust that driver's license!

I’ve been doing this **** for 30 years. In that time, we’ve seen thousands of people get scammed and prosecuted 6. Why such a low prosecution number? Two primary reasons:

1. Any thief that knows their business is using a VPN. A VPN allows them to hide their whereabouts - making them difficult to find.

2. We can only help prosecute. The person that got screwed has to bring charges… and its very rare for any of these guys to be motivated enough to go through the hassle of that.

I will say that 99% of all the thieves we’ve dealt with were AMERICAN.

I will also say, that all of these cases are avoidable. Only pay by PayPal Goods & Services. Any other way leaves you open to being screwed.

Also… fellas… have some manners… and realize that The Ford Barn is not limited to American audiences. We have members from all over the world… and all of those members are welcomed. If you don’t agree with that sentiment, it might be time to find another forum.
