SW Oval Speedometer disassembly

Breaking speedometer cables (2).Disassembling 1930 SW 35001 Oval Speedometer, 10K since 1965 "decals/rebuild".

How do you remove the magnet from main shaft?
Shaft has spider gear at bottom turned by mating spider gear & speedo cable.

I read threads I can find, including link to Model A House and Les Andrews Speedometer Service Hints, most are for basic decal replacement . Drawings helped.

Have odometer dial, speed indicator wheel and trip mileage wheels removed.

Magnet appears to have a flat spring clip holding assembly to shaft.
Does this simply pull out, releasing magnet?

Magnet and shaft with bottom spider gear turn but still slightly stiff…assuming old grease/corrosion in mid shaft worm gear area. Would like to refresh lube/grease throughout.

Also, what size is stake pin that holds odometer dial assembly in place? Need source for this pin.
Thanks

If it were mine, I'd box up the parts, put them in a basket, and send them to PapaNick. They would be back in a flash, all fixed and looking like new.

I heard of a local guy that "did" his own decals & "wheels" & was always questioned by his insurance company, when he reported his Annual Odometer Reading. I don't have proof for this "story"---"Maybe" they were drinkin' too much COFFEE, or BEER!
Better to do as CarlG said.

Thanks.
Where would someone locate PapaNick?

I don't need entire unit rebuilt, it's rather simple, just need guidance taking shaft/magnet apart for lube from someone who has seen/done it before.

Thanks, I'll contact PapaNick and see if I can ship my parts to him for cleaning/reassembly...before I destroy it. Better to pay the man!

Thanks for the lead.
