Suspension and shock travel

I am attempting to mock-up rear shocks on my 39 pu. The shocks have 7.2” of total travel. The axel has 5” of clearance to the bump stop. Does anyone know how much extension the factory shocks had? Does anyone know what typical extension travel is for an on-road vehicle? I looked at the later ford factory and cloned aftermarket models and they will not clear the radius rods and still align with the frame crossmember, hence my query. I tried uploading a photo but that function doesn’t work anymore.

I found the answer to my own question, 5’ compression, 3.5” extension. This based upon a the 8.5” arc traced by a front shock with the original front lever installed and the assumption that because the distance from axel to stop is the same front and rear, so is total travel.
