Does anyone have a preferred parts supplier? Snyders, Mike's affordable etc. Are all suppliers selling same parts or are there different manufacturers for parts.? Also need to buy front and rear bumpers any recommendations or where to get these. Thanks in advance for any help

I've dealt with Berts model A, George Moirs Antique auto, and Snyders. Ive found all are great to deal with and helpful to make sure you ended up with the parts you need. From what I've read on the Barn and with talking with the supplier, not all parts are created equal, that's where the suppliers stepped up and told me my options/choices between price and quality.

Looking for the front bumper emblem that has "Ford, Made In Canada"

Where you are located has a lot to do with recommendations. That being said, Snyders, Berts, and Brattons all do a great job.

I have been reviewing parts and vendors etc. for several years now. We have found some parts are only made by one company while others have several different manufactures. We try to show you what to look at when buying parts and try to help you become a better consumer. We have been able to improve some parts by approaching the manufacturing company and showing them where they need improvements. If you find something you question shoot us a pm we will take a look at it and write up what we find.

I personally would recommend Snyder's, and Bratton's. In the case of Snyder's, they sometimes have sent me parts that would not fit. But, always, and I mean, always when I contacted them, they made good on allowing me to return the parts and receive credit.
When I supported my finding of mismanufactured parts with pictures, They have allowed me to return the items with no squabble. I highly recommend them. Plus, if I order by early afternoon, I can get the parts next day. I like this. Bratton's customer service is second to none. They are very kind when I call. Good Company.

This subject has been discussed many times. If you do a search, you can find a number of posts about vendors.

I buy many of my parts from Mac's and Snyders, I have had very good luck with both. Some people complain about shipping. I say if you get stung on shipping it us your own fault as you should have found out shipping costs before you placed the order. We are very fortunate to have the abundance of parts suppliers we do. If you call their "help" Guy & chat about something on the car, you'll get a pretty good idea of their level of service. I've NEVER had bad service from ANY of them. (And I'm PICKY!) If I were to be HUNG, I'd insist on a NEW rope!

First, the Company. Second, (maybe first) is the quality of their Tech people.

Third is quality of the parts. (One and two play a big part.)

Right up there, maybe a tie with the One's, is Customer Service.

Model A Parts houses are like a good wife. Find one and keep it for life.

My choice is Snyders and Tom Jordan, their caring Tech guy..

If you talk to Steve at Bert's, he will tell you the difference between the parts he carries.

If you just order something on line or through a catalog, you get what you order.

I'm sure the other suppliers will do the same.

I've used most of them. It depends on what I'm looking for and shipping times.

Examples

Used/nos; Bert's
Aluminized headlight reflector, Bratton's they have them made and so far sole source.
Mike's for almost everything, they are close and shipping is sometimes next day because they are so close.
I have used Snyders, Sacramento vintage ford and Mac's

I have used Mac's, Snyders and Mike's. I like Mike's best. I usually get next day delivery if I get the order in early. If they don't have an item in stock, they will always give you a call to see if you would like to wait or ship the rest.

Hard to beat Snyder's shipping prices and speed of shipping.
Bratton's is very good too.
Watch shipping prices on some vendors as they can charge a lot!

I have used all of these (In no particular order):
A & L
Aires
Bert's
Bratton's
Little Dearborn
Mac's
Mike's
Sacramento Vintage
Snyder's

Some more than others, just depends on what I'm buying.

Quality, price, shipping
Search all the vendor's, compare them on each item, make your informed decision.
I have my "prefered" vendor, but the choice of vendor is for you to make.
I've had good service from them all, great service from one.

Your experience may differ

...Also need to buy front and rear bumpers any recommendations or where to get these...

Speaking of bumpers, has anyone had experience with the Stainless Steel Bumpers that are available from various vendors? Are they made of "Good S/S" not the stuff they make BBQ's out of that rust (low nickel content) I live near the Ocean and the salt air is hell on chrome (and brass).

The bumper I bought from Little Dearborn is holding up very well, about 5 years now. (I live about 5 miles from the ocean.)

Does anyone know where I can download a scanned copy of The A and L catalogue?

I'm having a little trouble getting one....
