Super Quick Question...37 Ford.

Just a quick question. I'm ready to start up my 1937 Ford fordor with a rebuilt engine and take it for a ride and it's break-in. Right now I've got Quaker State 10W-40 with the Lucas zinc additive in it. Should I go ahead and use what I have or switch over to a 20W-50 Castrol, etc. brand with the zinc already in it? I know a lot of you folks like the 20W-50. Thanks!

Personally, I always use straight grade mineral (non-detergent) oil for break in but engines will probably break in with just about any oil in them as long as a good assembly lube was used on the cam and cast iron rings are on the pistons. With chrome rings, non-detergent would be better.

It won't make much difference on which oil you start it up with. You should drain out that oil after about 50 miles, to get rid of little metal shavings.
MIKE :)
