I removed all Spark plugs in my motor and can't get the last one ; next to the firewall on the right side, I just can't get it to budge , should I put a long handle from the 1/2 inch drive ? use an impact or ? I tried some WD 40 but I guess it can't get to the threads any help would be with great thanks , thanks Barners ...

might have to pull the head to not mess up the threads ... try a little heat??? might have caused the problem in first place... did you use never sieze??? good luck , and let us know how you get it fixed...kevin

Is the spark plug stuck in an aluminum or cast iron head? I had some plugs stuck in a pair of nice early 21 stud aluminum heads and what I did was lay them flat on my work bench, with plugs facing up, and put a generous amount of Kroil Penetrating oil around each stuck plug and let it sit that way for several days. Then I used a 1/2" drive electric impact wrench and they came right out with no damage to the aluminum threads. I didn't use heat but I think some low even temperature heat, like maybe on an electric hot plate, would have helped the Kroil to migrate better down into the threads. JM

Try a mixture of half Acetone and half Automatic Transmission fluid. Thus prudent use of an impact wrench will help hjar the threads loose too. Good luck.

Re: Stuck Spark Plug in 21 stud Flathead ???? Finally Got It out

:) Finally got the spark plug out, left it overnight with WD40 then again in the morning WD40 then an hour later I got it to move slowly then out it came :):):):) , thanks guys for your input to my problem !!!............................................................................. The Heads are Aluminum , I was worried about stripping the threads in the head but came out Ok, I got the car last Oct. and being doing other things on it , found some of the plugs had no copper gaskets, the plugs were Autolight Transport BT 8.... What is the best plug for a 21 stud motor ? as I'm only saving a couple as spares... .... I use Copper Anti-sieze on almost everything !! Thanks Guys ...
