Stromberg, Red's Headers, 32 B Motor, '30 Roadster

I posted this to the Jalopy Journal too, but might be good here too!

Hello and help! Suggestions for a fix to all this is welcome!
I was running a Weber 32 on my '30 Model A (with a 32 B Motor, Red's Headers, FSI, 12v), and I was having some issues with the carb, so I got my hands on a tested Stromberg 97 with a Zepher manifold. I'm doing my best to get it all working (fuel is getting to the carb), and here are my issues I need guidance within:

1) The accelerator rod I had to bend a little to get around the headers. This is causing a binding and spongy none responsive pedal.
Is there a cable or suggestion to get a proper gas pedal motion for this?

2) The choke cable, I used the one that came with the Weber settup, and it is binding too.
Is there a cable or suggestion to get a proper choke cable motion for this?

Thanks!

I might be wrong here, but I think your binding is due to the linkage to the carb. I had a similar problem before I bit the bullet and bought the original style linkage from Burns. Your rods are not level and may be rotating the shafts downward rather than in a circular manner. Also, I had a similar choke issue and got rid of the cable. I now have a solid rod that goes through the hole in the upper section of the cowl that originally had the vacuum line to the wiper. Now everything has a more or less straight run to the carburetor...

EMF nailed it! Issues with the Weber 32/36 are generally the inability to open the secondary port. I've been running those carbs for 15 years with no issues. The secret is simply using quality adjustable linkage parts and not being afraid to bend the A throttle arm.

All helpful information! Now, best way to connect the gas pedal assembly ball to a rod to 90 degree (straight out to the outside) connect to the new connector throttle rod I made?
