hello everyone, i need 2 carburetors. mac's has the new stromberg 97 in there catalog for 450.00 each. anyone of you here think this is high?????and anyone here have a better deal for the new stromberg? looking for new.

Well if you take into consideration what a core costs,how much a rebuild kit is,and o wait you had to take to the machine shop to get some threads fixed and you still have a rebuilt carb and it cost the same or more sounds like a hell of a deal....

If you decide to go with new 97's I would suggest getting the ones that are made in England. The price may seem high to you but you will be getting a beautiful high quality product. If you go to Uncle Max he will treat you right. I know that from personal experience. I would strongly recommend that you stay away from the 9 Super 7 carburetor. JMO

It's safe to say there would be no English 97's if it were not
for Uncle Max...new is new and a good original is well..... original.
The 9 super 7's are a real challenge from my up close and
personal experience.
