Has any one used the adjustiable jets on the stromberg 97s and did you like them?Would you recommend them?

I've never used them, but I think there a bear to get adjusted right with more than one carb. Speedway sells them. Walt

I have a couple sets of adjustable Stromberg 97 jets. I talked to Uncle Max about possibly using them on some 97's I was rebuilding. He basically said I would be spending a lot of my time trying to adjust them and keep them adjusted properly. I took his advice and used the jet sizes that he recommended for my application.

Adjustable jets were great----back in the 60s----when we were running lots of 97s on race engines---with methanol, nitro and any other thing we could get. We used like .120 jets and used the adjustable needle to decrease the final jet size. They leak like crazy-----

For the street, don't use adjustable jets.

If in my craziness, I built another engine with lots of 97s on a race only engine, I might use the adjustables again---but that would be the ONLY place for them.

I have been using adjustable jets on multiple setups..sure beats changing out jets to figure out what is best..To each his own..Whats good for the goose my NOT be good for the gander..I think thats how it goes..
