Straight water run cooler

Does straight water rather than a mixture of 50% antifreeze run cooler. If so, what do you guys put in the water to control rust and lub the pumps.
 
There has been an ongoing thread on the subject on the Model A Forum for a while. It seems like most feel that Water with Water-Wetter or Purple Ice does best, a lot better then 50-50 Antifreeze. Water-wetter and Purple Ice will also control corrosion.

I use Distilled water and Purple Ice but live in a warm climate where we do not need anti-freeze.

Just my opinion,

In miami I ran water with water wetter no problem. In missouri with the temperature in the single digits, I run 50/50 with wetter. In another engine I have on a stand 50/50 and it runs 165.
