Storms affecting operations a bit

Yesterday's big storms roared through Greater Cincinnati, causing lots of tree damage and power outages. Our power is back on but there are intermittent blips, so you may have some difficulty reaching us for a day or so. Calls going to our voicemail right away, and calls that we answer getting dropped. Please be patient if you cannot reach us immediately. Thanks!

Every area can have a "disaster". Earthquake, flood, wind, political, freeze, heat etc.

Have a 72 hour emergency kit WITH YOU (you might not be home) https://www.ready.gov/kit.

Know how to and when to and when not to shut off utilities that could be a danger. Gas, Power, Water, etc.

Have evacuation areas and access routes identified for both people and pets, but also cars.

In a major disaster cell phone service will often be lost and you will be over your head dealing with the disaster Delegate a friend or relative several states away to be a contact for people checking on you, you only have to get ahold of them once.

FEMA has lots of good information. If you are the type to be involved many areas have volunteer CERT teams or at least CERT training available.

We are safe and all family members accounted for. Karl......that's good advice for everyone. We are in a rural area so we planned for power outages many years ago with the standby generator. All big trees around the building were removed to keep the structure clear. Disasters can find other ways to get ya, so being prepared the best you can is good advice.
