Stoneguards

To each his or her own, w/w, stone guards, ect, ect, ect whats the big deal, if you like it, its all a matter of what you like, my car, my w/w my stone guard.....if we all liked the same thing what a boring world this would be.....just my 2cents if I can state my opinion!!

My stone guard on the Zipper roadster is a custom made stainless steel shaker mesh that has a 1/4" ss rod surround. It's polished and looks considerably better than the after market A guards.

Bill:
Do you have a stone guard on your scooter?

Carl,
No! Just GOGGLES:D And an old military back pack to haul old parts in.:D Gonna' stencil something on it, like, "WAR WOUNDS" or "OLD NFL INJURIES"

Antiquepa,
I agree with you TOTALLY, I didn't mean to be offensive, sorry to all. Bill W.

I like stone guards.... but have to fight Louis on the white wall law in Ga,.
My 28 CCPU is a work truck and needs black tires and wheels....
maybe be we can agree on something similar to our seat belt laws was for years did not apply to trucks lol

pdora, it looks like the first thing you did when you bought your Model A was to take photos. I checked your "My Car" link and all of the photos show a stone guard;)

I don't care for most of the custom Harleys now days either, but I wouldn't give up a make of bike I like because of what others are doing.

That was before I actually owned it.

Glad you brought that up Carl,
As many of you know, I have been leading the way for a bill to be pass'ed here in GA. that would outlaw blackwall tires with black wheels on all model A ford's [28-31] it's called the W/W law.
It is very close to passing, I have a lot of support here in the state, And If the voters here in Ga. agree in nov 2012,... All "A" model's in the state of Ga. will look like mine, And that's my opinion :D.

Yep, I'm with you on this one, make it a law 'cause ya know everyone obeys the law.... I'm all for it if it includes Stone Guards and a Right Rear Tail Light.....LOL :p

It seems funny to me that back in the 50,s I never saw an A with a stone guard even tho almost all my driving was on washboard gravel roads.I could care less what others put on there cars. as for me, I have WW,s on my sedan but that was my wifes idea-not mine!At least on my coupe, the wheels are B&B.

Just installed a new water pump on the '30 and, during the process, I discovered the stone guard hit the headlight bar and added to the difficulty of removing and installing pump. Now on the plus side, after a road trip a while back, I noticed a rock wedged in my '32 grille. It was tight enough that I know it would have damaged the AC condenser had the grille not caught it.

I always have my stone guard on.....never know what kind of mood the wife is going to be in:rolleyes:

I'm conflicted. I like that gorgeous naked look too so my stone guard also presently decorates my garage wall. But the first stone damage (or car show vandal damage?) I find on my new Bra$$Work$ radiator will find me singing the "I wish I had & If only" song.

Here's a picture of the guard I described in an earlier post
