Stipe Machine Co. Shocks

And, if not stock, then why not use a set of tube shocks at say...few hundred for whole job and great shock ride
D

Maybe but when I see tubular shocks on a Model A Ford, I cringe.

About like seeing an alternator. They both perform I'm sure but just don't 'look right'. I'm the sort that would rather spend decent money up front for original or excellent reproduction parts like Stipe's or A&L make than go that other route. After all, our Model A is for fun not daily transportation. We've got other vehicles for that;)

Stiffness from tube shocks probably means you've picked the wrong ones.
It will be most noticeable in the front. As the A has a lot of resistance built into the suspension already the compression cycle of the shock will need to have very little resistance. The shock rebound cycle (best to be adjustable) will then control the "bounce".
I'd pick the shock very very carefully. Getting the right ones will make a huge difference.
