Went to the town office today to renew my antique plates on the '29 Town Sedan. After paying the five dollar excise tax to the town of Norway (the former snowshoe capital of the world), fifteen dollar plate fee to the Grand State of Maine and three dollar agent fee to the town for collecting the fifteen dollar plate fee for the state, I was informed by the clerk that the old law of not requiring titles for automobiles over the age of fifteen was no longer valid. Instead, all automobiles manufactured in the 1995 model year and all subsequent model years now require titles. Now how am I going to transfer ownership of my '97 Blazer with only 219,000 miles on the clock? I've held onto it all these years and maintained it since my divorce in 2001, so that in 2012 I would finally be able to sell it even though my ex's name is on the title! Oh! Woe is me! The money in maintenance I'll never recover! I'll never be able to sell it now! Maybe I can be buried in it!
