Sticky Gas Tank Valve

I have driven my early '31 Coupe about 5 times. At first, the gas tank valve was easy to open and close, but now I need a tool to get enough leverage to turn it. I don't want to break it.

Do I need to drain the tank and lube the valve with some special grease?

Sounds like old gas hardened up and clogged it. Lower the level of the gas, remove and soak to clean, should be fine then

My advise would be : drain the tank completely , take the fuel line of, turn the fuel out and inspect the tank fuel outlet for debrie first. Then pay attention to the fuel **** itself. I'll bet you find find a lot of rust, gum etc.

Sorry for the type ... must read turn the fuel **** out.
