Steering gear

I am getting only 1 1/3 turns (lock to lock) on my steering wheel after a total rebuild on my 1940 truck steering box. Ive read it should be 3 turns lock to lock. What should it be? It seems like not enough.

for me, "not enough" would mean the turning radius was too wide. and turning radius is not necessarily determined by the number of steering wheel revolutions. for one can have a turning radius of ten feet with one turn of the wheel or with twenty turns, depending gear ratios within a steering box or rack and pinion setup.

The Penrite Lube is Lithium based 00 grease. Cornhead grease is 0. TSP sells the exact 00 lithium grease, different brand (Super S) for 7-10 a quart. It is also available at lawn mower shops, as some machines use it in their gearboxes. Fella on the HAMB who has rebuilt numerous EV8 boxes recommends the 00 grease, fwiw.
