Steering gear boxes

Can someone tell me for sure if a 51 car steering gear box will fit a 49 model car?

The rebuild kits are the same so I think the boxes are the same too.

The only thing that might be different would be the steering shaft length and I think the 1951 is 3/4 inch longer.
