steering control valve

ive stripped the 66 fairlane down will the control valve and center link work in my 66 mustang if i change the tie rods also the pivot ball is bigger then the hole in my steering box can i ream it or will a rebuilt kit for a mustang work car was a 6 cyl manual steer car thanks

I suspect that the center steering link of a '66 Fairlane is a few inches longer than one from an early Mustang, and won't fit correctly.
If the outer ends of the Fairlane center link are farther apart that will change the length and angle of the tie-rods and increase bump-steer.
