in black or chrome , i really dont like the 19:1 turning but i guess i have to live with it , or add the R/P to my OEM axel witch i was told has a bump steer , i dont know what is , anyway there was good info there
thanks

If you use an American donor column you will be safer or save up for the Ididit column and here is why: https://www.google.com/#q=aftermarket+steering+column+failure As you can see these "no-name" columns have a high failure rate. The other alternative is keep the stock column and you'll save on going to the gym and have powerful forearms and wrist muscles like this guy.

A friend just put one those offshore columns in an OT tri5. The lower bushing fell out during the install, the turn signal sw didn't work, and the car is now laid up waiting for a proper column. Steering is a life and death deal, and not just for you. The advise above is correct.

Summit uses a lot of "off shore" in their house brands so it can be a gamble, gambling with steering is not a safe bet.

I just did a '55ish ford sedan and the steering column was part of the steering box, that was a serious project to seperate them and add modern column. I recall that the aftermarket column was too long and I had to shorten it, you may not have that problem in the pickup - it was very tight and had to be precise. I also had to machine the steering box for an oil seal since the orginal is open and there's oil up in the column itself.

Try RPC (Racing Products Company) in California, they made the one I modified and when I called with tech questions they knew exactly what to do because they assemble the ones they sell, I talked to the guy that did them.
The columns were very reasonable.

ok thanks
i am thinking of going with a 30" column shift and maybe a 3 to 3.5 drop here are some pics the first is with tape measure at the end of shaft, ,
thanks
