Steering column help

I searched forums and could not find an answer, or was doing something wrong. What my question is will a 1956 crown vic steering column fit a 1955 crown vic? Thanx Byron

I'll give a qualified "yes". The '56 column is shorter to accommodate the deep dish steering wheel, so you would need a '56 wheel or a dished aftermarket one. The steering shaft is pressed into the worm gear inside the steering box, so best to get the whole assembly if you can.

Thanx for the help i have a 1955 crown vic so ill have to stay with that.
