What is the advantage of using a Steering column drop ?

It takes stress off the tank mount. That area prone to leak.Multiple lengths were made so could reposition column angle

Do you mean the 31 style that bolts to the dash rail? Or,the ones that sandwich between the column and the tank mount? Those just drop the wheel down a little closer to your lap. I never knew the 31 styles were made in different lengths.

Two lengths for the dash rail mount that I know of.. Longer one for the Victoria IIRC and shorter one for the others.
