Steering column circumference?

Can someone tell me the diameter of the steering column on a model T? My speedster project is going to have a different column, and I want to install a monocle on it, but since I don't have the monocle yet, I don't know what circumference to build the column.
Diameter or circumference, either one.

The T column isn't round. It is kinda squished diamond shaped. So you would need to make your own mounting bracket if you are going to use a round column.

I may have to order the monocle kit before I get started.

I've done that but I don't really get a good idea of the dimensions.

Here are the dimensions of the T steering column.


Lang's sells both a brass and an alum version of the monocle frame. The bracket will have relief for the horn tube.


Years ago used the alum one and painted it black. The clear shield was Plexiglas, as safety plate is a bit heavy for the clamp to hold it upright the wind. The plastic stood its angle with my road speeds back then
