Just finished rebuilding my 1931 two tooth gearbox. I removed it out from the inside of the car with help. I put it back in myself from under the hood side. I put a towel down on the floor under the cross member, slipped the gear box in under the cross member and back into the firewall with the levers fully in the down position. I put it back in without any help. Of course the Steering wheel was off and the clutch and brake pedals, starter was removed. If you have engine pans you need to remove the drivers side one. A good set of bungee cords help to hold the column somewhat in place so you can start to bolt up. I also wrapped a towel and taped it around the column to prevent scratching.
