I agree it's a F-1 thru F-3 size box. Clean it off and see if there's a casting or engineering number. That can be crossed over to an actual part number. Looking at the 2nd pic, I see a fill plug. LH drive application?

Looks like an F4-F6 RHD box, except the bearing on the end of the sector, that fits into the side cover is confusing that? I have never seen that arrangement on that era steering box. Can you post a pic of the inside of the side cover?

The sector shaft is likley 1.25" rather than 1.125 like an F1.

some better shots thanks all Ted ,Andy what would you use it for ?

If it was used in a LHD car, the steering shaft would be on the top. It would be like an F100 box but without the ugly pitman arm. It might have a good ratio to boot.

Will it be from a Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) Ford truck? I have a friend here in Tauranga that was looking for bits for his F30 a while back.

Ted those are sought after by guys building rods,I sold one to an AV8 builder.
I think it was from a RHD F1

Yes Lawrie good for a hot rod .They cut the Colom on the F100 shorter and fit different wheels to them ,also need a wedge on the frame I think , quiet a bit of hassle to do it ,Ted

The main reason my mate said was to get the box away from the exhaust,it was flathead powered.
Ted I have sent you a PM
