I am looking for any information on how to rebuild my steering box. I have in taken apart up to getting the race out and wondering how to get the worm gear and shaft out. Any help?
Remove the four nuts holding the sector shaft housing to the main housing. The sector housing and the shaft can be removed. The taper adjusting plug will need to be wiggled to get it out. The upper bearing collar is removed by taking out the four bolts. The shaft,worm, shaft, and bearing cones will come out now.
