state titles question

I went to DMV to register my new acquired Model A. They asked what body style, I said CABRIOLET. They said what's that? I said a car with a top that folds down. They said "oh, a convertible". It's titled "conv"!!!

this is the first "house car" title I have seen in my life. How many house cars actually exist? Ill bet less then 5.................

LOL. The trend to abv everything extns to the USPO. Their ofcl adrs for my house lists the rd as an Ext although it is an Extension. Plus my st is lisd as NC although it is North Carolina. WTF?

Hello again, Pennsylvania isn’t too bad within state title transfers ,but when bringing car to Pennsylvania, they want to see a tracing, or now a picture of the VIN number. If it can’t be found the state will issue a Id vin to be attached to the.car usually at a state police barracks. A friend of mine had the go this way with a 1939 Lincoln , didn’t know the number was on the bell housing

Here it's eyes on only.No tracings, rubbings or pictures.Years ago a friend wanted his registration to say retractable. We didn't have titles for the old cars, but he wanted his paper to reflect what he owned in case he sold it.The town clerk said no-go.If the top goes down it is a convertible. No retractable,Cabriolet,Phaeton,or Roadster. There are only a handful of body styles, and they have to be listed as something any LEO in the country will recognize. My A roadster was a conv.My Coupe and Tudor are listed as two doors.I bought a 71 Blazer in 1975,it was registered as truck.Jeeps and Scouts were the same way,but sometime back then those were changed to utility. Now when registering an old car, they ask for the body style, and if you aren't exact on what you want to say you are given a choice of what it fits the most. Then they hit a code number, and the computer puts that name on the registration. It is no longer typed in.
