hello-background:starter is very weak-with wire from starter disconnected from starter lug and switch on car floor 'on', i get 6.43 v.
There is 6.44 v. at battery terminals ,so connection from battery to starter ok. When i measure ohms from starter lug to ground with wire from battery to starter lug disconnected,i get a few ohms, i think it should be mega ohms. so if there is almost a short circuit between lug and ground, do i need to replace starter terminal insulastor and inner insulator?
how to do it?:
do i need to remove whole starter or can i just remove the brush cap? when i replace brush cap , do i have to have some sort of a brush spring retractor when i put brush plate back on? thanks
