Starting to attach sheet metal - Help requested

All,

Very nearly done with the first round of sheet metal parts on my 29 CCPU. Within the next few days or so, we will actually start attaching the splash aprons, running boards, radiator splash shield, front fenders and hood shelves.

Does anyone have guidance on this? Is there a good sequence? With regards to fender welt, do you punch the holes for the bolts? Any guidance on running board welting?

I would start at the front fenders and install the fenders to the frame with fender braces and use the headlight bar. Bend all of those where the bolts can be installed without the need for prying. Back away and look a both fenders to ensure they are symmetrical and even aesthetically after you have done that. Tweak the bar and braces. Once you have those mounted correctly, install the body aprons and then the running boards. You will need to mount the bed and ensure it is sitting level before the rear fenders can be fitted.

Just glue the running board welt to the arms. Use friction tape on the lip of the apron. Cut pie-shaped notches in the fender welt. I prefer using Roy Nacewicz's welting over the plastic type as it is more flexible.
