I am unable to restart my 1941 Ford 1/2 ton when the engine is hot. It has to cool down for about 20 minutes. The battery, starter and condenser is new. The engine bearly turns over when hot almost like the battery doesn't have sufficient juice. Help!

that problem is encountered alot on the ford v/8, usually caused bu poor connections and grounds, make sure you have a battery with enough cranking amps, that you have 6v cables the thick ones, at least #4 cables, not the thin 12v cables, make sure all connections are clean and tight, run the ground cable to or as close to the starter as you can, then run a cable to the frame, then one back to the engine, while your at it make sure the body has a good clean ground, do all of that and your problem should be fixed, unless your starter is weak, excessive heat on the starter can make it turn slow

You need 2/0 cables with all tight clean connections and you need your coil rebuilt if it hasn't been. Ford1 I think you got your wire size numbers scrambled. Number 4 is smaller than lawn tractor cables. These engine will start on the first turn if everything is right. G.M.

GM your right need heavy cables for 6v, its early in the morning, but i think i got every thing else right lol
