Starter stuck in on position

Will give it a try.
Part of the problem with the repo switches I disassembled is the plunger angle is wrong and the plunger stuck, or was resistant to being depressed. More a design issue. That is why I used OEM covers, and OEM plungers.
And when the paper fiber tip was worn the plunger would wedge.

So then I replaced the fiber tip with a modified piece of nylon bolt.
That way I also reduced bacon sales here in Brentwood.

I respectfully disagree with Bob. I have a dab of electrical grease in my switch and it works great. No sticking, no smoking, no dirt accumulation, no welding together of the contacts, no oxidation of the contacts, and low resistance of the contacts.

I agree and have also had good results using a lube on the contacts.
I also agree with Bob that the angle on the repro covers is wrong and can cause sticking.
