hello guys
anyone knows how to remove the starter on 272 y block
i have removed the 3 bolts and battery wire...

The starter should fall out. On a 55 or 56 you may need to turn the wheels one way or the other to get the starter on the ground. Or possibly pull the idler loose from the frame. You just need to maneuver it just right and it should come out.

Automatic?
If there's a bracket to hold the trans dipstick tube that fastens onto one of the starter bolts, it may be stuck there.

If you pull outward to some extent, it will want to fall but get stuck because the starter drive gear mechanism hits the flywheel ring gear. So, if you push at the side of the starter while simultaneously pulling the starter out until the gear mechanism clears, you can get the end of the starter shaft out of it's cubby hole in the bellhousing. At that point, you've got the heavy end of the starter practically sandwiched between the big frame crossmember and the engine block.
If I remember correctly, seems like if you tilt the shaft end of the starter downward while pushing the heavy end of the starter in the opposite direction (back toward the transmission), you can worm the starter out through the bottom. I never needed to turn the front wheels any certain direction and it does not matter how high the car is lifted up, you can still get it out the same way.

i'll try to turn the front wheels .i hope that i'll can remove it,
i think the starter drive is broken, i heard something fall out when i've start the car
thanks for your answers and merry christmas

Time to get a magnet and go fishing for the missing parts. They make a horrible noise when the flywheel kicks them around the bell housing!

If you have a manual transmission, there should be a removable pan on the bottom. On mine, four bolts removed the pan.

Perhaps the timing was set too far advanced, or the spark plug wires were mixed up, or someone held the ignition switch in the "start" position after engine started, revved it up and exploded the gear.
Nowadays, it could have been a replacement drive from some U.S. guy who had a Chinese factory make him the cheapest possible part so he could make big bucks, and you got junk!
