Standard issue air cleaner 34

Ken here is a 34 air cleaner and if you look closely at the original 1934 Ford assemble line photo you can see part of the air cleaner.

Ok now look at the post above yours which one is correct. Why 2 diff ones claiming to be 34 V8 cleaners???? ken ct.

Ken, This is the '34 passenger car air cleaner according to the 1933-34 Ford Book published by the EFV-8C/A. It is also used on '35- '36 passenger cars.

According to the book the air cleaner shown by 2935 is a '33.

The one above is a 1932-33 helmet air cleaner which came in two styles in 33, one smooth and one with a sculpted removable cover. On my air cleaner I haven't yet installed on the side of the air cleaner the air cleaner warning decal regarding cleaning of the mesh filter element of which also needs to be installed in my air cleaner. Below is a link to a historically accurate 1934 Ford engine.

Steve Staysko, I have never seen a '34-'36 air cleaner with a smooth top like the one you have pictured. I have only seen tops that have the six raised ribs. I am wondering what brand name that one is and is that possibly something that was used only in Canada?

John it is the only smooth top that I have ever seen that's why I bought it and I also have a 34 air cleaner with the six raised ribs. I have know idea as to the brand or whether it was Canadian made has anyone else seen or have a smooth top?

These are on my 34 pickup I don't know if they are correct or not, maybe someone out there could tell me what it is off of if not correct. Also I do not know if the oil filler/breather are correct or not, any input will be appreciated.
Gary.

Gary, that AC maybe an optional oil bath one and the scoop on the oil fill is not correct 34 used a small cap cover and was cad plated. Thanks for the pics. ken ct.:)

All of the 34 air cleaners I have seen are the helmet type, no side vents and the air is pulled up from the bottom. G.M.

So which is this one? I thought it was for 60 hp. I have been advertizing it that way for quite awhile. Thanks Rod

What is so hard to understand here ? Left is 32-33 made by Burgess , Top and right are 32-33 made by Holley and bottom is 34 . Apparently 35-6 also but I am not into those . Hey Rowdy try advertising it as 34 - it may sell better .

Thanks much David,i always thought like GM said 34's were like the top and one on rt. side were 34's evidently NOT that one was 33 not 34?? according to you 34 is like the bottom one and same for 35,36 and maybe later. This is getting a little cofuseing to say the least. ken ct.:)

Evidently its not 34 but 32-33,probebly worth more than 34-36 as their more plentiful from those yrs. LOL your gain in my opinion. ken ct thanks for trying to help.
