I bought these stanchions for a 30-31 Deluxe at a swap meet. They appear to be cast. Anybody seen any like these before or know the history?

Thanks

I had a set of those, never machined or polished.I had bought a bunch of 28-29 folding stanchions, and those were in the pile. The 28-29-s were cast the same way,but had the lowers too. They must have come from a vendor in the past,I had 6 sets of them in the box.

I found some of these for a 30 - 31 at a swap meet several years ago. I didn’t know anything about them so I bought them because they were different. I probably paid too much for them.

Same with me. I doubt I'll ever use them for anything, but they were interesting

In the 1960's, brass lower stanchion bases for '30-31 open cars were sold that were undrilled and had no threaded shaft for the w/s pivot point. I bought a pair in 1969 that went with the unfinished Deluxe Roadster I sold in 1971 before moving to Arizona. I don't recall all these years later where I got them, but there were so few Model A parts suppliers back then that they must have come from J.C. Whitney, Gaslight or Mark.
Anybody else have these oddball pieces?
