Now I'm thinking about trying to grind the depressionon the worn spring with a dremel. Then sliding a piece of tin can under the spring end. Whatayou thunk?

Hey Clem; No tin it will squeek, what we-er trying to stop. COPPER, go to the hardware /plumbing store, and get about 2 or 3 feet of 1/2 or 3/4 inch copper tube. Now cut 2 or 2-1/2 inch long, so you can make hang over tab, on each side. now pound it flat, also make turn up tab on the end .... Your making a copper "patch panel" for the end of each secondary leaf,.... Hey it works, no need to grease, but taping would be good. ...We did this in highschool, bet some sap we could make his car ride better, we-ed go under his car with a hammer, good screwdriver, and a hand full pennies, put em between the leafs, and send him for a drive,,,, he'ed come back all wide eyes and WOW. Now my friend you need some new shocks, come by where I work on the weekend, and we-ll put some new shocks on, be much better, The boss loved it. Sold a lot of shocks, and made some money....
I did this with my 39 deluxe,

mad: not on the road yet) I took the springs all apart, and cleaned, wire brush, sanded, THEN I soldered on a 2X3 inch copper patch on the end of all secondary springs leaf.... yes I got it warm enough tin solder, but not destroy the temper ?? hopping for a softer ride???..... OLD....BILL
