Squealing Throw Out Bearing?

A noise just started a couple of days ago. When I push the clutch pedal down I hear a squeal coming from the trans area. The car is a 1938 Ford Standard Coupe. The noise gets louder as the pedal is further depressed. I think it's the throw out bearing? Can this be greased? And if so how? Of course I would like to keep from pulling the ****** and changing out the t.o. bearing and clutch. Suggestions welcomed.

The right fix is to repace it[a lot of hard work]I have heard of greasing them by drillling a small hole thru the outer cover of the brg. and forcing grease into the brg. using a rubber universal greasing tip.I have not done this but I understand it works. You have to perform this working thru the inspection opening in the transmission.

Might also be the pilot bearing.

The throwout can be greased through the inspection plate but it's not easy to get at, try that first. They are a sealed bearing, but I do have one with a zerk on it. Careful to not have a lot of loose grease that can be flung around and work it's way onto the clutch pad. Good luck.

A few years ago my TO bearing on my 40 started squealing, I kept putting it off. Finally when I pulled the engine, I find the 3 fingers on the pressure plate almost worn right off. SO, you better think about fixing it before you have to replace pressure plate also. Walt

on the f1 I'm working on the throw out was so stuffed it was spinning on the carrier/hub and had worn that out. Don't use a chinese made bearing, I'm in the process of doing the job a second time as the chinese bearing was junk. Only good thing about doing the job twice is its quick, I have the gearbox out in less than an hour. Tony.
