Square gauges

Hi Gents
Who's tried to fit a round peg in a square hole:confused:
Well to be more precise, anyone fitted round gauges into square dash holes before?
I've been told that the Monarch & Ford have the same sort of gauges so have square hot rod gauges been made available.

From a posting on Canadian rodder there is a kit that replaces the square gauges with mofification to the dash but I'm not sure I want to cut the dash to make the round ones fit.

Been told that pinto gauges may work but I've not seen pinto gauges, also been suggested that 70's Ford truck may work.

I've looked for replacement gauge faces on the internet but not had any luck yet.

Any thoughts or experience regarding the above
Thanks
Martin

This is how they look at present, well they are out and in a box actually. Could look nice with white replacement facias and fitted with green or blue lights for at night

In my 48 Ford, I replaced the stock gauges with round ones. I used the normal 2 1/16 gauges (don't remember the brand). I had to slice a little off the bezel sides to make them fit. Took out the stock lettering and used the gauge lettering . I don't remember all the modifications involved because I did this about 20 years ago but now you can use silicone to hold them in place. I worked out great, but decided to put in a 41 dash with digital gauges so the set up is long gone.

You should get an extra gauge panel to do this so you can go back to stock if you want to.
