Spoke length question

I am about to order a complete set of spokes for 30 X 3 1/2's. I see there were two different suppliers of spokes and one version may be 1/32" longer. That measurement is so small, does this even make a difference?

Don't forget that two spokes 180 degrees apart will increase the overall length by 1/16" (.060"). Will the steel felloe handle that at 360 degrees(?) (Paint thickness can almost make that up). Probably if it its in good shape, HOWEVER, what is the OEM length spec'd out at? The longer may be correct and the shorter ones looser.... Hmmmm ws

Yes the length makes a difference. i tried assembling wheels from different rims and found that with short spokes in a wheel that was slightly larger the hub was not a tight fit while the longer spokes in the smaller internal rim were too tight to go together.

Following is a quote from Snyder's catalog. It seems the Kelsey felloe is 1/16 larger in diameter than the other Ford felloes. You should be able to measure to see which type you have.

"For use with Kelsey Hayes wheels. These hickory spokes are about 1/32" longer than the T-2800-A30-H spokes. The fellow of a Kelsey Hayes wheel measures 20-13/16" I.D. The other Ford Fellow measures 20-3/4." "
