splash apron and slight body raising

wbs

Senior Member
hello- 23 touring with wheels on- I need to remove aprons - I guess that it will be ovious how to detach from front and rear fenders -I guess I don't have to actually remve fenders, just the bolts to apron-RIGHT/WRONG?

then remove running board

then elevate the body 1/4" -can I just raise 1 side of body? do I put 2x4 under body , then scissor jack under each end and raise 1/4'' ?

remove wood screws in apron

do I need to do anything to radiator?

any other tips?
thanks

Tips are shown in the Ford Service Manual....

If you only want the shields off , and keeping the body on, it can be done.

First remove the hood shelves, but not the radiator. And remove the wood screws in the shields to the body sill. Remove the bolts that hold the body brackets to the frame rail brackets, as this is the spot that pinches the shields. With the fenders off, and running boards off, you can swing, pry, and pull the shields off.

Be sure to remove the bolts that secure the front end of the shields to the frame, they are under the hood shelves.
