Spindle Bushing Reamer

I'm a one time Model T restorer. I need to ream my spindle bushings but really don't want to spend $90 - $100 for a reamer I'll only ever use twice. Is there somewhere I can either buy a used reamer (which I can then re-sell) or rent for my one time use?

For $26 - $28 you can check the Grainger catalog for an expandable reamer in the ranges for your diameter. That's what I did only to find out that Lang's bushings and new spindle bolts went together without reaming. The final net result was 0.0015" clearance in my case.

Precision reamers are always more expensive due to close tolarance manufacturing required.

Good luck

Thanks guys - I'll do some more checking. I have the new bushings mounted in the spindle - got that part done on my own.

I'll check with a couple machine shops on their price to do the reaming and also check the other options recommended.

I really appreciate the help.

you can watch ebay
I got a toolbox FULL of reamers, valve seat cutters and a ridge cutter for $30 and it had 2 Ford spindle bushing reamers

I have used a wheel cylinder reamer for that . Just ream to fit the spindle. Use plenty of oil and a course set of stones. Keep trying to get the fit right.

Jack, You are correct I was thinking of my 39 front end which is larger. Although I do have a very small reamer used on very small car cylinders that possibly may work .
