Speedway Water pumps

Can anyone tell me the flow rates for speedway's water pumps vs Skip's rebuilds? As I am considering sending my new speedway pumps to Skip.

I would strongly suggest sending them to Skip. Work done in USA and he will be there if ever there are any issues. I have about 15000 mi on mine and are fine. I believe Skips pumps pump a lot more water than the off shore pumps and do the design of the impeller there is little or no cavitation which causes bubbles and the resulting hot spots. I have gained this info from this forum and don't pretend to be an expert

I don't know whether or not "Skip" would be able to fully rebuild the Speedway pumps?? They have non-Ford bearings and perhaps shaft diameters?? I suggest a contact-before -send.

Don probably meant to say get an original set of USA made pumps or pump cores rebuilt and don't buy the Speedway pumps to begin with. Those Speedway pumps are probably built with metric size bearings and other metric size parts that he may not carry. Skip probably trashes those foreign made pumps and switches the customer over to original Ford cores.

Macy send your speedway pumps to Skip with a note to check them for the amount of water they pump in 5 minutes. From past tests they do 75 gallons in 5 minutes and Skips with the body modifications and turbine impeller do 110 gallons. He has modified quite a few of these offshore pumps sold by old Ford parts suppliers. He has the shafts, bearings and seals for these pumps. I figure with the service buyers of these pumps will get over time Skip will have enough repair work for the rest of his life. Email him skip@fordsrus.com when you send them. Only send him $12.00 to return them. Also send him your phone number so he can call you after he tests them and you can decide what you want to do. I talked to him this morning so he is aware that they may be comming. G.M.

Job Lot (Queens N Y)rebuild kits vwork great. dont know the flow, but have about 35000 mi on my did it myself rebuilts.

I have used Speedway pumps alot of times, more than I can remember. I have built alot of engines for other people and never had a come back because a Speedway pump failed. If you dont need a part number on them for a judge to look at they will cool your engine just fine . I have never done a flow rate test on them but I can say this. If they will cool all of the blown flatheads I have done without a problem I know darn well they will cool a stock one.
