Speedster being built

I just read an VERY interesting post intitled:
New build thread - My son's first car
Talks of a 13 year old building a Speedster with his Father & Grandfather.

The pictures were terrific as the project progressed BUT ABRUTLY STOPPED ON 02/12/2014! The 13 year old should be in his mid 20's by now!

Has anyone ever heard of this project being completed!

Life kinda got in the way of that project, but it's still ongoing. I honestly don't recall where I left off updating that thread but the site I was using to host the photos changed and I lost the ability to access them. Daniel got close to turning 16 so we had to shift our attention to getting something put together for him to drive everyday, which ended up being a Mustang. The Mustang project pretty much took up all of our spare time, and then before you know it he was off to college.

In college he got really involved in their Formula SAE race car program and ended up spending nearly every waking hour working on the race car. It got so bad towards the end that he was just sleeping in a hammock in the tire room a lot of nights, just so he could get in a little more work. I guess it was worth it in the long run because he got to be the team captain his senior year and the experience he gained working with carbon fiber on the race car is what got him his job after graduation. He's been out of school right at 2 years now and builds rocket motors for a living.

As for the Speedster, Dad has pretty much retired now and is trying to get focused back on finishing the body. The door hinges are built now and the doors are hung, so now we're working on modifying a pair of door latches I picked up on eBay. I'll try to snap a few photos this week sometime and bring that thread back from the dead. Thanks for checking it out!
