Question, I have a 29 sport coupe with the oval speedo and big, thick speedo cable. The frame I’m putting this body on is a 30 or 31 and the Speedo cable is the skinny one. Will this skinny cable work with the 29 oval speedo?

No, the tips at either end of the cable are different between the 2cables. The later cable will not properly fit into the drive gear on the torque tube or the speedometer head.

Ok, with that being said, what is the best thing to do? Replace the oval speedo with a round one? Or can the turtle on the torque tube be changed over?

The round '30-31 speedo and dash will not fit the '29 gas tank. So you are kind of limited to your options.

One of the vendors used to offer a bunch of different cables to do the type of things you want to do.I THINK it was Snyders,and not sure if they still offer the mix and match line or not.I bought one once to do something like you want to do,but in my case I needed a cable anyway.I think it's just easier to change the turtle.
