speedometer rebuilding

Wonder how many know how to lube the cable, or what service the speedo requires. I am guessing not that many. Go until it fails is one approach.
 
I recently purchased a 31 deluxe 2 dr. It has a Waltham speedo. It seems to be fine except it occasionally “sticks at zero. A small tap gets it going and will be fine. Have you experienced this problem? I want to keep this speedo, as the car is original. THANKS
 
It has been checked out locally and seems to operate (except sticking at 0). Is there a place where a small drop of whale oil might help?
 
no it will need to be serviced the main shift needs to be cleaned and then rebuild to get it moving free again.
 
Still rebuild all of the model a speedometers and the 32 ford speedometers. if you need one done just send me a email for more info. Thanks Papanick,,
