Speedo cable (interior) length

The interior speedo cable for my '31 Roadster recently snapped. In removing it from the cable housing, it measures about 65 3/8" in length. I have a Bratton's repro for the '30-'31, and the interior cable for it measures about 61.75" in length.

I note that Snyder's sells a replacement inner cable only, which measures 61.50" in length.

Other than the cable ends being different for the '28-'29s, relative to the '30-'31s, were they both of the same length?

If I use the Bratton's repro with its cable housing, the shorter length than what I had in the car will make it difficult to use the cable clamp on the frame, and still have enough length to reach the torque tube. Was a longer cable ever used?

Gracias, senor.

This is what I have read (most of it reasonably clear by the way):

28-29 62 1/32"
28-30 62 11/32 ( ? )
30-34 61 3/8

It would appear that mine must be of the 1937 vintage, possibly.

I presume that these are internal cable lengths, and not the lengths of the cable housings?

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Gordon
