specs for the Ford six

I have some old speed parts laying around. One in particular is what I believe to be a six-cylinder aluminum head. Could I bother someone in the know to give me the dimensions of the Ford six head to confirm this? Thanks in advance...slim

See attached photo of Knudsen head. The head has 33 bolt holes and the spark plugs are equally spaced. The size is 8" by 27". If the back of the head is straight, it is for a "G" series(1941-1946). If the back is bumped out half way on the left, it is for an "H" series(1947-1951).

I would be interested if an "H" series.

Hi all; Edmunds also made a good head, I sold mine. You might also consider an 'M' six, 254 inches and found in trucks 49/51. California Bill Speed book had a chapter on them. later Newc

Kay guys, Garcias. So I know I didn't hit the lotto but whats a fair asking price for the Old Edmunds--never been bolted on...slim

i expect it might command $500 to $1500. As always - it's worth what someone will pay!

It appears that there is no "bump" on the side. Measurements are 26-1/2 by 7-3/4".
So this is for the earlier sixes?

If there is no bump out on the back, it is a "G" series (41-47). See pic.

What I wouldnt do for this head. If only I had the cash. Damn. It blows my mind that some people have some "stuff laying around" that I would kill for because stuff for 6's is so hard to find.

Also, it appears that the thermostat housing is different for the G series too, so that might be a good giveaway of whether its a G or H series.
