Speaking About Tires.............

The tires (19 inch Goodrich) and tubes on my coupe have been on the car for probably 10 or more years and most of that life has been in the garage either on the ground or off (on jackstands). They still look new. Should I have any concerns about their reliability? I don't go on the highway so 30-40 MPH is about all the workout they get. I've read several posts recently about all the tubes now made being import junk...............

They should be fine. I've also heard todays tires get old fast just sitting and tubes fall apart . I've been runinng old tires and tube since 1970 but pull them off when I see a problem. I know it's pure luck but I've only had one instance where I lost a chunk of tread. I don't push the tire condition to far though.

Leo, It sounds like you take good care of your tires. I wouldn't worry about them, I did the same with a set of Lesters, 20+ yrs. and they were still like new. Sold car 15 yrs. ago, I'll bet they're still running! About the worst thing for tires is grease, oil,and ultraviolet rays from sun. (let alone punctures!). I just watch for sidewall age cracking.
